With a number of big names dominating the sports betting industry, trying to gain a foothold in the market as a new entrant may at first seem a long shot.
But Gr8odds Ltd was convinced it could carve out its own niche with a new focus on customer service, making the betting experience as enjoyable as possible for the punters.
Its first outlet in Wembley opened in March 2010 and has already proved such a hit that the team behind it are looking to open a second outlet.
The team behind Gr8odds first began putting their plans together mid-way through 2009 and it was at that point they brought Berg Kaprow Lewis on board, who provided advice on the initial set-up of the company, on matters including VAT, business taxation and company cars.
The firm now takes care of Gr8odds’ accounts, including the main year-end figures, and is also handling the company’s payroll through its BKL Outsourcing division.
Managing director Richard Thomas said: “One of our shareholders has known Howard for a long time, and he was naturally keen to bring him on board. Business at our first outlet has been very good, hence us being on the lookout for a second already, and we anticipate keeping BKL alongside us for the long term, as the business continues to grow.”
